FAQs
If you’re new to reflexology, or simply curious about what to expect, it’s completely natural to have questions. This section is here to guide you through some of the most common queries, helping you feel at ease prior to your treatment. What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands and face. These points are believed to correspond to different areas of the body, helping to support relaxation, balance, and overall wellbeing.
What happens during a treatment?
Your first session will begin with a short consultation to understand your needs. You’ll then be invited to relax while gentle pressure is applied to your feet using reflexology techniques. Many people find the experience deeply calming, and some drift off to sleep.
Does reflexology hurt?
Reflexology is usually very gentle and soothing. Occasionally, certain areas may feel a little tender, but the pressure is always adjusted to your comfort.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people come for a one-off session to relax, while others choose regular treatments to support their ongoing wellbeing.
Is reflexology safe for everyone?
Reflexology is generally safe for most people, but there are some conditions where treatment may need to be adapted or postponed. This will always be discussed with you beforehand.
What should I wear?
You can wear anything comfortable. Only your shoes and socks need to be removed for the treatment.
Is reflexology a replacement for medical treatment?
No. Reflexology is a complementary therapy. It works alongside, not instead of, medical care and advice from your healthcare provider.
